It is particularly difficult, because I’ve had this cat since Nov. 2006. Which means she saw me through my first apartment, unemployment, moving to Chicago, moving back to Boston, parts of grad school, my father’s death, and so on. Lots of big moments.

I knew she wouldn’t last forever and I was expecting her to die sooner than later but I didn’t expect her to die like this.
