A dear friend gave me a beautiful Akai Silk veil that measures about 4 yards. For someone who is 4’10, the veil length is a challenge. Three yard veils are no problem, but the extra yard is a bit different to work with. Often times, the ends of the veil are dragging unless I’m moving very quickly or have the veil draped, and it is a bit more weight.

Before I cut the veil, I want to film myself to see how problematic this. Maybe it looks fine for the ends to touch the ground, but I’m not sure. I do have Shoshanna of CA’s Fabulous 4-Yard Veil DVD to work through and analyze; she is also a shorter dancer as well though a bit a taller than I. When I had worked through that DVD, I was using a 3-yard veil but look forward to the challenge of re-learning, in some sense, what I know with 3-yard veil with a longer veil.
