I forget to announce I signed up for an “open mic” (5-minute) spot at the Red Fez. My lovely and amazingly talented classmates, Badriya, Nepenthe, and Jemileh Nour are also performing. There’s also live music, which is a huge change from everything I typically do. Live music is part of what makes the Boston Middle [...]

With every Raks Nativity practice, I become more excited than before to be involved. There is something absolutely lovely about being a part of a creative, dedicated group whose goals are to raise money for a wonderful cause (Cradles to Crayons) and just put on a high-quality production. I’m one of the village girls doing [...]

The show is an interesting use of Middle Eastern dance and acting and features a nice mix of dancers, including yours truly. There is a cane [...]

I *think* way back in September I had written about auditioning for Raks Nativity, the story of Jesus’s birth through Middle Eastern dance. I have a small role (inn keeper and village girl) in the play. I also am designing the program. The play is a creative idea and is a fundraiser for Cradles to [...]
